Courage to Serve!
June 7-9, 2001
Camp Twin Echo

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends - John 15:13 NIV

Royal Ranger Pledge
With God's help, I will do my best to
serve God, my church, and my fellowman, to live by the Ranger code, and to make the golden rule my daily rule

THE SCENARIO

You awake from a deep sleep to find the room filled with smoke; you got lost in the woods and it is starting to snow; you crashed your bike and you can’t more your leg because it feels like it is broken. What do these three scenarios have in common? In each case, someone will come to your rescue. It may be a fireman, a search and rescue team, or a paramedic. Each of them has the Courage To Serve

… they are willing to risk their lives everyday to serve you. The pow-wow theme "Courage to Serve" honors the men and women who serve – whether serve as firemen, policemen, soldiers, sailors, paramedics, or as volunteers helping others with daily jobs that are not glamorous or exciting, but are important to those who depend on their commitment.

During the weekend, there will be many exciting activities, during which the boys will learn the meaning of the Royal Ranger pledge and they will be encouraged to commit themselves to serving others.

The following activities are planned:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Sky Crane
  • Avalanche Busters
  • EMT
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Flood Control
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Search and Rescue
  • If you missed this ... you missed a Great Adventure!

The Southwest Suburban Section ... Reaching, Teaching, and Keeping for Christ!
